Callie Cox is a Tucsonan at heart.  After graduating from Salpointe Catholic High School, her love of foreign cultures and language took her to study International Business at the University of Kansas.  There, she discovered the world of aesthetics and developed a passion for helping others enhance their confidence and feel better about their appearance.  After deciding to pursue a career in skin care,  Callie returned to Arizona and finished her education at one of the premier schools for Aestheticians, The National Aesthetics Institute in Scottsdale, Arizona where she graduated with honors. Her years of working for others in the med-spa profession provided Callie with the motivation to open her own facility.  It is at Laser 1 where Callie is able to offer an affordable alternative to traditional spas.  Callie has made a name for herself in mastering the art of eyebrow sculpting and treating challenging skin care cases.  She has performed well over 50,000 laser hair reduction treatments making her one of Tucson’s most experienced laser specialists. Callie is fluent in both English and Spanish

Gustavo Nunez is actively involved in providing training for doctors and technicians worldwide on the proper and most cutting edge techniques for the injection of Botox and dermal fillers. He is more than just highly skilled in injection therapy. Gustavo is a cosmetic artist and a regular presenter at Continuing Medical Educational seminars on subjects including Botox injection and dermal filler applications. After graduating from Loyola Marymount University with a degree in System Engineering, Gustavo quickly became the Director of the world’s leading liposuction equipment manufacturer, Wells Johnson. This position provided Gustavo the opportunity to travel the world and learn the latest successful cosmetic enhancement procedures. He worked with Botox and dermal fillers for ten years before those products were approved for use in the United States. He was trained in Brazil, the cosmetic surgery capital of the world. He also studied in Canada, France, Italy, Mexico and the United States. He trained under the world’s premier Botox injector, Dr. Martin Braun. He also trained under and worked under the President of the Brazilian Society of Aesthetic Medicine, Dr. Mario Cabral, and the President of the Mexican Society of Aesthetic Medicine, Dr. Blanca Miller. He has mastered the technique of Bioplasity, which involves facial and body contouring with filler. Bioplasity is commonly referred to as a liquid face-lift. He has helped design and brings 26 different cosmetic enhancement products to the market. He has developed techniques on Mesotherapy, which is used for dissolving fat (cellulite) and rejuvenating skin. In Tucson, he works with Laser 1, exclusively.

Laurance Silverman, MD is a specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation as well as pain management. He is a graduate of the University of Louisville, Kentucky’s Frazier Rehab center, with an emphasis in wound and skin care. He is also accredited by UCLA School of Medicine in IMS Acupuncture (Intramucuscular Stimulation). He is certified by the state of Arizona in Laser Therapy as well as numerous cosmetic procedures including Botox and dermal fillers.
Dr Silverman moved to Tucson from Florida almost 20 years ago. Originally from Ohio, he enjoys Tucson’s hiking trails and the events offered by the University of Arizona with his wife and two teenage children.

Originally from Hermosillo, Sonora, Dulce Encinas is one of Laser 1’s technicians specializing in hair removal.  Dulce is a graduate of The National Laser Institute in Scottsdale and has performed well over 10,000 laser hair reduction procedures.  That number continues to increase daily.  She is also head of Laser 1’s permanent make-up application department.   She has an uncompromised commitment to helping others look and feel better about themselves.  Her primary goal is to ensure that each client has a completely satisfying experience at Laser 1.  Dulce’s attention to detail makes her our most requested technician.  For the convenience of our Spanish-speaking clients, Dulce is also fluent in both English and Spanish.

Before her career as a make up artist, Michele attended the University of Arizona. She worked with MAC Cosmetics for over five years in both Tucson, AZ and Los Angeles, CA. In addition to her work at MAC, Michele took on more personalized make up assignments related to professional photography shoots for models and limited merchandize shoots for such companies as Red Bull. Wanting to leave the retail side of the make up industry, Michele went to work with Anastasia/Beverly Hills as their lead in house make up artist for over a year. After moving back to Tucson in the last few years, she obtained her State of Arizona Esthetician license and has been freelancing in this field until she came to work at Laser 1. At Laser1, Michele enjoys preforming facials, waxing, laser hair reduction, as well as being the head makeup artist on staff!

Lauren is a Tucson native and a graduate of Pima College. Following completion of her undergraduate degree, Lauren went to Pure Aesthetics, an all-natural skin care school right here in Tucson. She is a licensed aesthetician that performs laser treatments, hair reduction, waxing, facials and chemical peels. Lauren loves interacting with new people, making them feel better about themselves. Lauren is often the friendly voice on the phone that calls you to remind you of your appointment and the smile that greets you when you walk in the front door.

Melissa was born and raised in Tucson Arizona, after graduating from Catalina Foothills High School she traveled to Butler University in Indiana where she realized she was always destined for the Tucson sun. Since transferring back, she is currently a full time student at the University of Arizona and has become an expert in the salon/spa environment. She’s the voice you here on the phone, the smiling face you see when you walk in the door, and the “have a good day” as you leave.
